The New Cisco WLC CW9800

The new Cisco Catalyst CW9800H1 and CW9800H2 Wireless LAN Controllers are engineered to be powerful and energy-efficient, offering up to a 36% increase in performance and up to 40% less power consumption compared to the Catalyst 9800-80. They support up to 6000 access points and 64,000 clients with a maximum throughput of 100Gbps.

The CW9800H1 features 4x 25G uplinks, while the CW9800H2 offers 2x 40G uplinks.

The CW9800H1/H2 models are the replacement to the older C9800-80, which will reach EOS by the end of 2025.
